Hermetic Package Leak Testing

Our Precise Methods Protect the Integrity of Your Equipment

Hermetic packages must be airtight. Fractures in the seal used to protect your equipment will let contaminants and moisture inside, negatively impacting device reliability, shortening its lifespan and costing you money.

HSHLD®

IVA® testing is only one piece of the puzzle. It will help you determine the presence of a leak, but more precise testing will identify the location of the leak so you can more effectively resolve it. For this reason, high sensitivity helium leak testing (HSHLD®) is essential for testing seal integrity on hermetic packages.

Leak Site Identification

Once the presence of a leak is determined, it’s time to find out precisely where it’s located. ORS utilizes several methods for leak site identification, including a Helium Sniff Test and Fluorescent Dye Penetrant Test. We’ll work with you to determine the best method for locating your device leak.

Krypton-85

Our Krypton-85 Leak Testing method in the U.S. provides a highly sensitive measurement from fine and gross leak rates in high-reliability devices. It is the preferred method to characterize small leak rates in critical military components.
